Telegartner has announced it has used ultra-miniature telecommunication connectors (UMTC) to develop a new cable solution as a flexible antenna method for circuit boards.
The company explained the setup can be used even when there is limited space on the board, while the plug allows for an external aerial connection that can serve to bolster wireless connections.
Gunter Waller, coax divisional manager at Telegartner Karl Gartner GmbH, noted that with the new cable and small coaxial connectors in the series, "small circuits boards such as those used in GSM or WLAN modules and in RFID technology can still be connected reliably to an external antenna".
The manufacturer explained the development could result in the quality of communication with a solar power system being improved considerably.
And it appears the release could not have come at a better time, as last month Engadget reported that coaxial connectors remain the top television link to tuners for families across the globe.
Quadrant offers an extensive range of high quality connectors, supplying standard coaxial connectors for all standard cable groups.
