Radio station's outdoor antenna 'a stealth design'

Date: 12/1/2012

A proposed outdoor antenna to help transmit a radio station's broadcast in Pennsylvania, the US, will be a stealth design that does not have a negative visual impact on the skyline in Erie.

This is according to Richard Rambaldo, an advertising executive and co-owner of First Channel Communications - which runs 92.7 FM - who explained the structure will have no guy wires or lights, Go Erie reports.

The industry figure noted the 78-foot high outdoor antenna, situated on top of the South Shore Place apartment building on South Shore Drive, will be just ten inches in diameter.

As such, the feature will appear no more imposing than a flagpole.

Mr Rambaldo stated: "I'm being sensitive to the community ... I'm not putting up an eyesore."

Last month, the Wall Street Journal reported that Newark's jazz frequency WBGO 88.3 FM is hoping to provide static-free reception in New York thanks to the installation of a new antenna in Manhattan.

Quadrant Connections offer a complete range of base-station antennas for mobile communication networks.
