Councils to use cable assemblies in health drive?

Date: 24/1/2012

Local councils may soon find they are making use of multiwire cable assemblies and other products found in medical equipment as they seek to improve the health of their residents.

Health secretary Andrew Lansley noted authorities will be able to track their progress against a number of challenges - such as preventing cancer and fighting obesity - when they take over looking after the wellbeing of local people.

The politician was speaking in response to the news that councils are to be given a ring-fenced budget next year and allowed to select how best to spend the money for their population.

Mr Lansley - who is also the MP for South Cambridgeshire - said at the Royal Society for Public Health: "Every area of the country is different so councils will be able to decide what the most important public health concern is for them and spend the money appropriately."

Investing in products such as cable assemblies and other items used in the medical world may therefore form part of the plans for some local authorities.

Standard coaxial and multiwire Cable Assemblies are just part of Quadrants extensive range of cable assembly and cable terminating abilities.
