The manufacturing of connectors - and systems such as panel assemblies and cable assemblies - could be boosted by the chancellor's Budget announcement, an expert has revealed.
According to Nick Locke, in his regular feature for Electronics Weekly, George Osborne has acknowledged that the UK requires more skilled engineers and technology professionals.
He noted that if the government can boost the electronics sector in the UK then the country can reprise its title as being a world leader in such innovation, adding that in addition to recognition from Westminster, businesses and markets should also be gaining awareness.
Mr Locke quoted Sir John Dyson as saying: "It is very important that the government does interfere. And the government can help slightly by skewing the taxation system to encourage the right behaviour."
One place where connectors and innovation are being exhibited is at the Hannover Messe, where industry professionals will be displaying their latest technologies as part of the fair that runs next month.
