Cable assemblies to help make the NHS safer?

Date: 11/10/2011

Specialist medical equipment such as multiwire cable assemblies could play an important role in helping to make the NHS safer.

Health secretary Andrew Lansley has set out new proposals that aim to provide a more transparent service and to implement a 'duty of candour' as a contractual requirement.

It is hoped the move will give patients and local clinicians greater power when holding the NHS to account.

The consultation is party of a wider effort to modernise the healthcare system - something likely to also involve an uptake in contemporary medical equipment that makes use of multiwire cable assemblies.

Mr Lansley said: "We must develop a culture of openness in the NHS. This is a key part of how a modern NHS should be – open and accountable to the public."

The politician - who is also the MP for South Cambridgeshire - added a more transparent NHS will result in a safer service where individuals can be assured they will receive care to a high standard.

Standard coaxial and multiwire Cable Assemblies are just part of Quadrants extensive range of cable assembly and cable terminating abilities.
